About us
Science and technology for those who provide care
FAROL is a deep tech company based in Joinville (SC), Brazil. We create serious games for health, education, and neurodevelopment.
Children play with their body, their gaze, or their face. The professional runs the session and adjusts each activity; the system records performance on every attempt.
We bring together medicine, neuroscience, engineering, and computing. Our products grew out of research at UDESC, IFSC, and UFRJ.
We do not diagnose or replace professionals: we are allies to those who provide care.

Products
Three ways to play
THEIA
A console that projects games onto the floor and tracks movement with a camera, without sensors on the body. Children play with their feet: RepeTEA, KarTEA, VesTEA, and Ginga Divina.
VisuoPlay
Gaze-controlled games, using a Tobii eye tracker or a mouse. Four minigames (Blocks, Genius, Defense, and Select) adjust difficulty based on performance.
Canary in a Meme Mine
A browser-based racing game controlled by facial expressions through a webcam. Everything is processed on the device; no images are transmitted or stored.
Evidence
Tested with children and professionals
- 40
- children with ASD in THEIA's controlled study, with 18 sessions
- 2.18–3.02
- effect size (g) across THEIA's three outcomes, p < 0.001
- 41
- specialists involved in the co-design of RepeTEA
- 4.75/5
- usefulness of RepeTEA for professionals, rated by 25 evaluators
- 185
- schoolchildren in the randomized trial of the visuomotor program behind VisuoPlay
- 20
- children with ASD in Canary's randomized trial
Academic studies with small samples; effect sizes still need to be confirmed in larger studies. The products do not diagnose or replace professionals.
Platform
One platform for all games
In development: the B2B SaaS platform will bring together profiles, care protocols, session history, reports, and licenses.
Sessions work offline, and data syncs when a connection is available.
Records are pseudonymized in line with the LGPD (Brazil's data protection law), and raw video is not stored by default.
Who it's for
Clinics
Structured sessions, standardized progress reports, and stimulation tools with three forms of interaction.
Schools
Motor and cognitive stimulation activities, inclusive practices, and monitoring of educational development.
Private practices
Basic setup with an ordinary webcam and projector, and individual adjustment for each session.
Universities
Performance records for each attempt and reproducible protocols for research.
- 2.4M

- 2.5M
